It’s a feeling we haven’t experienced in five years; a new book by J.K. Rowling has been released.
At exactly 8:00 a.m. GMT today, The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling was released worldwide. It is her first novel following her bestselling Harry Potter series, and her first for adults.
The book has been called a masterpiece, comparing Rowling to Dickens, while others think the opposite. In the New York Times’ review of the book, they called it not only disappointing, but dull. Critics and readers alike can agree that this is not a children’s book, and that it’s a far cry from the wizarding world of Harry Potter.
Reviews have been swarming the web as news organizations release their reviews of the most anticipated book of the year. You can read a selection of those reviews right here. We will be adding to that list a lot over the next few days. You can expect our review of the book this Saturday or sooner.
